从1990年起，已经指导91名博士生和46名硕士生毕业，11名博士后出站。北京理工大学安全学科责任教授。
社会兼职
第十二届全国人大常委，第十二届全国人大教科文卫委员会委员，国务院学位委员会七届安全科学与工程学科评议组共同召集人，国防科工局科技委常委。《安全与环境学报》主编、《防务技术（英文刊）》主编。
